This is my best travel buddy @SCeetheworld eating a delicious Portuguese Egg Tart on her recent trip to Old Town #Lisbon in #Portugal. We first met in California when we were young'un, and have visited some seriously cool places together – from Hong Kong to London to Zimbabwe! Check her instagram for photos around the world! ✈️ So… what is #WeEatWorld? Some of you have been tagging me in posts inspired by @girleatworld and I ❤️ it!! I would love to share YOUR story! Here is what I need you to do: 1⃣ Take a picture of food and place of choice in the style of @girleatworld 2⃣ Then, post to your instagram and in the caption, please include: "#WeEatWorld for @girleatworld" so I can find it. Make sure your instagram is not private! 3⃣ Also in the caption, let me know what you are eating and where. I'd love to hear why you chose this particular food/place, but don't let me dictate what to say! tell your own story 4⃣ I will periodically feature pics I like on @girleatworld, with a shoutout! HINT: i love eye-catching backgrounds 😁 so go crazy, go wild! That's all! I am really looking forward to your pictures and stories! ✌️

Onigiri 🍙 at Odawara castle. #onigiri is a classic japanese food – it's rice ball filled with all sorts of ingredients like salmon, tuna, egg, ume (plum) and sometimes just plain rice ball with furikake (seasoning). They are sold at most konbini (convenience stores) so they are super easy to get. I had at least two of these every day that i was in Japan… 😍 so simple yet so so good! #japan #odawara #castle #おにぎり#日本 Thank you for 8000 followers ☺️. I dedicate this post to those who have helped me get to this point by featuring this instagram. in no particular order: @thrillist (via @citizenstrange), @businessinsider (via Jennifer Polland and Alyson Penn), @nsmbl (via @annanooshin) and last but definitely not least the cool folks at /r/travel @redditofficial

Today marks one year of @girleatworld (more on this below! ⬇️). This is a strawberry ice cream 🍦 at Karlskirche, an 18th century baroque church located on the south side of the Vienna, Austria. Vienna is such a fascinating city, full of arts and music but the most interesting thing has got to be that their water comes straight from the alps (like evian from tap!). Vienna is also where i learned that the architecture style i like is called "baroque". Exactly a year ago on July 31, 2013 I took off on my first solo backpacking trip from Singapore to Europe, where I took my first girleatworld picture. I visited Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Netherlands and Belgium. I didn't actually call it "@girleatworld" until this past May, but basically i've been doing this for a year! 😮😱 #vienna #austria #karlskirche #icecream #cones

Hello Kitty is turning 40 on Saturday! This hello kitty donut from Tokyo is *hands down* my favorite @girleatworld thus far. ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ Would you like a postcard from my next travel? Simple, read on to find out how: 1. Repost this image – or any of you favorite @girleatworld post from this account! 2. Mention me @girleatworld 3. Hashtag #girleatworld, or i won't be able to see your post 4. If your profile is private i won't be able to see your entry. I will be going to Thailand, Japan and Cambodia and then i swear i'm done traveling for 2014 😉 I will pick three posts at random and those posters will receive a postcard from me, from one of the destinations above! ✌️ Enter as many times as you want!

🌹🌹🌹 Touch down in Beijing! this is a rose-shaped strawberry ice cream at South Luogu Lane (Nanluoguxiang) in Hutong area. This lane is one of the oldest alley in Beijing (~800 years old) with many of its buildings still retaining the old architecture style. My hotel is in this area and when I came early this morning there was hardly anyone around, but in the afternoon the lane became super lively with tons of people, food vendors and little shops! Reminds me of the markets in Taiwan or Korea 😍 As usual, recommendations are welcome! I came back to Singapore for 6 hours then promptly went back to airport for a red eye flight. Pro tip: don't do back to back trips. I crashed so hard this morning.
